Mornings are easily my favorite time of the day. I study in the morning, exercise in the morning, it’s the time of the day when I’m at my productive best. I also like the mornings because it can pretty much determine the quality of your day. Usually if I start my morning off right, I can pretty much expect to have a good rest of the day. For that reason I compiled a list of 3 things I like to do in the mornings to ensure I have a healthy start for the day.

Drink tea

Tea jump starts your metabolism and increase your blood flow

I know a lot of people drink coffee in the morning, so if that helps you to wake up and get energized, I am all for it. I was pretty much raised on tea so I have a default love for it. Drinking tea in the morning can prove to be very beneficial as it gets your metabolism up and running, as well as increase your blood flow. If you exercise in the morning, this is definitely one of the things you should be doing. One of my favorite teas to drink in the morning is the Lipton Chai Tea. The cinnamon spice adds just the right kick to get you going.

Do yoga

Yoga can be a great pre-workout routine

If you find it hard to wake up in the mornings, a yoga routine may be just what you need. Yoga is a great way to stretch those muscles, and is the perfect way to get you workout ready. Yoga is also a well known way to relax, and can actually help with maintaining a healthy weight.  Your yoga routine doesn’t have to be long, you can put aside as little as 30 minutes. When I do yoga in the morning, I feel more refreshed, and my mind feels rejuvenated. Definitely not a bad way to start, especially on Mondays :).

Take a Walk

Walking is an effective way to exercise

I must admit that I have never really saw the value in walking. To me a good workout is one that is rigorous, causes you to sweat, and leaves you aching. Walking, however, has been shown to lower your risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Since discovering this, I walk about 30 minutes for about 4 times per week. To get the most out of my routine, I also wear weights on my ankles. To get the most of routine, walk with friends or family. You can literally walk for miles without realizing it if you have company. There really isn’t anything like exercising, and having fun while doing it.
